Peak performance, Injury prevention

With a background in collegiate track and field sprints (where I was coached by an Olympic gold medalist) I have a passion for developing explosive power and pure speed for sports. Whatever your game, I can help you reach peak performance levels.

I utilize multiple modalities, such as plyometric training, overspeed training and power training custom adapted to the particular demands of your specific sport. So, whether you want to drop your 40 time while simultaneously adding muscle mass for football, develop torso rotational power and arm strength to hit a baseball/golf ball, or work on lateral foot speed to cover every inch of the tennis court, I can get you there.

Injury prevention is of paramount consideration in the modern training of athletes. This is of particular concern in young athletes, whose bodies are not yet fully developed. Today, we are light years ahead of the old-fashioned ideal of “no pain no gain”. Overtraining is something to be avoided at all costs, and, in my opinion, the number one reason to employ the services of an experienced trainer.

For competitive athletes in high school, college or even youth sports, I can give you that competitive edge to help you reach your goals, whether you are looking to earn a scholarship, a starting position or just make the team. With your input, I’ll build a customized, periodized program designed to not only get you ready for your season, but also to allow you to PEAK at the optimal time during your season. I’ll take you through all six training phases that professional athletes go through of: adaptation, hypertrophy, maximum strength, conversion, competition and transition to assure your progression and improvement from season to season; and, for those athletes who participate in multiple sports at different times of the year, I will customize your program periodization to account for ALL your sports seasons. This is particularly crucial to younger athletes who may not have the advantage of this important coordination of their workout cycles from their schools or youth leagues.
